Why Simple Monitoring

Some of our clients don't have "Root" or "Administrative" access to their servers or their company security policies prevent them from installing the Zabbix agent on their server, so we offer our "Simple Monitoring" services to these customers for a fraction of the cost that our competitors charge.

Ping Monitoring

This is our most basic service we can simply ping your server and make sure it is alive. What this means in layman's terms is that our monitoring servers will simply check to see if your server is accepting network connection and is "alive" if your system doesn't reply to our request then we will notify you that there is a problem.

Port Monitoring

Our port monitoring service is part of our simple monitoring service, not only will we ping your server but we can also check which ports are open. All internet enabled applications run on a specific port, we can check that these ports are open which would generally suggest that the application on the other end is working properly.

With out simple monitoring application we will check up to 5 ports here are some common ports you might want to check:

Port 80 - Web Servers
Port 443 - Secure Web Servers
Port 21 - FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
Port 22 - SSH (Secure Shell)
Port 25 - SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
Port 110 - POP3 (Post Office Protocol)
Port 143 - IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol)

We will monitor any 5 ports in our Simple Monitoring Service, all 5 ports must be on the same IP address.

Website Monitoring

The final piece of our Simple Monitoring Service is our website monitoring feature, we will monitor up to 5 website addresses for you making sure that your website(s) is operational there is nothing worse then directing a potential client to your website only to discover that for some reason your site is down. Our website monitoring application will alert you to the problem before your customer does.
